MUSIC MINISTRIES:
Adult Choir – This is the main choir for morning worship. It is open to any adult with no audition necessary. Previous experience is helpful, but not required. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8:00. Members can sing at the 8:30 a.m. worship service, the 11:00 a.m. worship service, or both. The Praise Team is a small ensemble that sings praise and worship choruses and hymns for Sunday evening worship and aids in the morning worship services. A solo quality voice and the ability to read music are very helpful to someone wishing to be a part of this ensemble. Contact: Patsy Hubbard 334-5838 or Betty Gallimore 483-1223
Orchestra – This group accompanies the choir and congregation in weekly worship services and special musical programs. The orchestra also plays concerts and special songs during worship services. It is open to anyone who plays a standard orchestral instrument at any level. The orchestra rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00. The Brass, Woodwind, String, and Handbell Ensembles are small instrumental ensembles formed from the orchestra to provide music for services as needed. These groups provide opportunities for more experienced musicians to utilize their talents. Contact: Tanya Wampler 483-4608
English Handbell Ringers – We meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00. Starting mid September. We will play every 5th or 6th Sunday during worship services ( 8:30 & 11:00). Contact: Dawn Leety 719-3296
Audio/Visuals - Ministry opportunity every Sun., 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. services, Sun., 6:30 p.m. service, Wed., p.m. rehearsal. Provide audio/visual for all services – lighting, video, recording and sound. Training is given in operating audio and visual equipment. Recording Ministry – This ministry makes CD or DVD recordings of our church services available to those who request them. Contact: Sherman Mullins 334-5353
SERVICE MINISTRIES:
Greeters – The first impression is so important. Meeting, greeting, and making people feel welcome can determine whether a person will return to church. Greeters are assigned tasks and areas to assist to ensure a smooth, blessed experience for everyone who comes through the doors. Contact: Tom & Debi Matthews 493-8082
Ushers – Ushers are needed for all services to greet attendees, give directions, help with seating if necessary, collect offerings, collect other information from the congregation, distribute literature during services as required, monitor exits during the services, monitor building during services, count attendance and provide assistance to congregation as needed. Ushers need to be friendly and are required to wear ties and jackets. An annual meeting for training and instruction is required. Information Table -This ministry greets new visitors who come to our church. We are in a central location and provide directions, information about Sunday School, church ministries, and any questions they might have. Contact: Randy or Anne Jones 483-4933
Social Committee - We serve at all special events and all special requested events. We serve, set up, and clean up for all these events: Women’s Conference, Strawberry Festival, Musical Events, Senior Luncheons, Church Picnic, and Christmas Family Night. Parking Lot / Door Host – We meet and greet outside in the parking lot. It is a simple ministry with a big impact. We often are the first people visitors will meet coming in and the last going out. There are 3 time slots 8-8:30 a.m., 9:30 -9:50 a.m. and 10:30 -11:00 a.m. Contact: Ernie White 483-4390 or Michel Holt 929-4732
Landscaping – The Landscape Committee needs a team of volunteers who enjoy being outside and caring for plants. Only a few hours a month are needed to help maintain our church’s landscaping through watering, weeding, pruning and occasionally some planting. Contact: Becky Reed 312-7941 or Ron Smith 721-4770
Helping Hands – We provide helping hands mostly to the elderly or disabled who are unable to hire someone to solve usually small maintenance type problems ( repair a broken window, replace a porch, mow a yard, clean a house/yard etc.). If you have a particular skill or are a handy person you can be a helper in this ministry. Contact: Doyle Hamilton 420-0314
Orphan Care Ministry – James 1:27 instructs the church to care for orphans “in their distress”. This ministry seeks to meet the needs of orphans in many ways, but particularly by encouraging and facilitating their adoption into a Christian home. If you are an adoptive parent, are considering adoption, or are interested in supporting others who are considering adoption, this is the ministry for you! Church Maintenance – Facility and equipment maintenance of church. (examples: change light bulbs and filters, repair equipment, touch up painting, etc.) Contact: Ron Smith 420-3007
