Our staff is committed to serving the Lord and is dedicated to serving the members and visitors of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Our staff is supported by an army of volunteers who work to build up the body of Christ through equipping believers to reach, grow, and serve for the cause of Christ.

    Stan Parris

    Dr. Stan Parris – Senior Pastor

    Stan is a native of Waynesville, North Carolina. He holds a BA degree from the University of Tennessee, a Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor’s degree from Asbury Theological Seminary.  He is the author of a Small Group Curriculum titled “Worship: A Lifestyle, Not an Hour,” and is a conference speaker in the areas of Church Growth and Leadership.  He previously served as Senior Pastor of Vansant Baptist Church for 12½ years.

    Mark Griffith – Minister of Outreach/Education

    Mark is an alumnus of Virginia Tech and the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Mark and his wife Kathy began working with the youth of Franklin Heights in the summer of 1979. In December of 1979 the church called Mark to assume the role of Associate Pastor.
    As Associate Pastor, his primary areas of responsibility are education and evangelism.  Mark and Kathy have four grown children.

    Ken Richardson Ken Richardson – Minister of Music / Senior Adults

    Ken is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. He is married to the former Deborah Cassady of Bassett, VA.  Ken is director of our music program, which includes choir, orchestra and children’s music. He is also in charge of our Senior Adult ministry.  Ken holds degrees from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, Virginia Commonwealth University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest.  Before coming on staff at Franklin Heights, Ken and his wife Deborah served as missionaries with our International Mission Board of the SBC.  Ken and Deborah have three grown children.

    Doug Hayes Doug Hayes – Minister of Students

    Doug came on staff at Franklin Heights Baptist Church on July 6, 2000 as Minister to Students and Family Life Center Coordinator. He and his wife Cathy feel blessed to have such a great opportunity to serve.  Doug is an alumnus of Liberty University and Mid-Atlantic Theological Seminary.
    Trina boitnott Trina Botinott – Director of Children/Preschool

    Trina is a Virginia Tech graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and a Virginia Teaching Endorsement in three Special Education areas.  She was called to our staff in October 2006. Her primary responsibilities are children and parent education and child evangelism.  Originally from Salem, Virginia, Trina married Dale Boitnott, a dairy farmer, in 1992. They have two children – Joshua and Brittany.

    Pastor J. Larry Holland Pastor J. Larry Holland – Pastor Emeritus

    Larry, with his wife Ginger, started their ministry at Franklin Heights in June 1967. He is from Georgia and Ginger was born in South Carolina. He holds degrees from Columbia International University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest. During his 41 years as pastor of F.H.B.C., he has served eight years as a trustee of the International Mission Board.
