OUR MISSION×s

UFM International, Unevangelized Fields Missions, UFM, was founded July 1931 with its first workers in Zaire and Brazil. While maintaining its office in Toronto, Canada, UFM International moved its North American headquarters to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area in 1941 and acquired the Bala Cynwyd property in 1954. E.J. Pudney was founder/director until his retirement in 1961. Growth and expansion of the mission has been steady as new fields have entered: Haiti, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, France, New Mexico, Quebec, Mexico, Italy, Germany, South Africa, Ireland, Austria, Sweden, Spain, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and now into the war torn Bosnia and Afghanistan.

The North American headquarters of UFM International is located in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. Its Canadian affiliate has its office is Mississauga, Ontario. UFM International is international in its outreach as a foreign mission board.

The mission has a duly elected Board of Directors, which acts as it governing authority to set policy and give guidelines for the development of the work. The executive officers of the mission coordinate the administration with the fields, where with the field conference or national church organization is responsible to plan and execute ministries in accordance with the UFM International principles. An executive committee, field council, works with committees on the field to provide a line of accountability for the individual missionary with local supervision and counsel. The mission seeks the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all matters of operation and business, desiring to do all things decently and in order.

UFM International adheres to the fundamentals of the faith. Please see the page in a portfolio that is labeled "Our Doctrinal Statement."

It is UFM International’s objective to evangelize the lost and to establish local churches indigenous to their culture, responsible in their administration, maturing in their spiritual, evangelistic in their communities, and missionary in their vision. A diversity of methods and ministries contribute to their goal.

UFM International is a faith mission, not underwritten or subsidized by any particular group or denomination. The mission trusts God to direct His people to supply the necessary funds for support of ministries, projects, and missionaries. The Board of Directors establishes basic minimum support for each field, which varies from field to field. This support maintains the salary and work of the missionary. Systematic giving, grants, memorial gifts, and legacies become the means of God’s provision for the mission.
