Reaching To Connect

At Franklin Heights we understand the importance of outreach. The Lord Jesus commanded his disciples to go into all the world and make disciples, teaching them and baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. GO!

GO Teams – The GO Outreach is a ministry structured so everyone can participate in a way best suited for them. Opportunities include: writing letters to newcomers, visiting the homebound, handing out the Jesus video, making phone calls, reaching out to apartment complexes, ministering to the elderly, or visiting prospects in their homes. GO provides support areas such as prayer and child care for those participating in this ministry. Meets on the 1st & 3rd Mondays at 6:45. Contact: Randy Jones 483-4933

Morning Visitation – Volunteers go and visit throughout the month. Ladies may pair up as partners. We visit a variety of people in health care facilities, shut-ins and anybody in need of a visit. We meet on the second Monday of each moth at 10 a.m. to report back and discuss needs. Contact: Debi Matthews 493-8072

Janice’s Gang – We meet on the third Monday night at 6:45 p.m. when “GO” meets at the church for visiting and then we go to Trinity Missions Nursing Home. We take CD’s for the patients to listen to that are furnished by the church. We also take them magazines, Sunday school books, lotions, and other small gifts that are provided by our church members. Contact: Janice Holland 483-2766

Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief organization. During the months of October and November, participants fill shoe boxes with appropriate gifts for children living in desperate situations around the world. These shoe boxes open doors for presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ. These boxes are collected, dedicated and shipped in November.  Contact: Laura Walker 483-8576

Angel Tree Ministry – The primary purpose of Project Angel Tree is to administer unconditional love to children who have at least one parent who is incarcerated. This is accomplished by meeting basic needs throughout the year and by spending time building relationships with the children, their caregivers, and the absent parent.  Contact: Cindy Studer 721-7386

Strawberry Festival – This is an outreach festival held at the Farmers Market in Rocky Mount in May. A fun time serving free ice cream topped with fresh strawberries along with cotton candy, popcorn, cold drinks, face painting etc. This is our gift to the community expressing our appreciation to Him for His abundant blessings to our church.  Contact: Bonnie Walker 483-9644
