Previously the Senior Pastor of Vansant Baptist Church for more than 12 years, Dr. Stan Parris has been the Senior Pastor of Franklin Heights Church since 2008. A native of Waynesville, North Carolina, he earned a BA degree from the University of Tennessee, a Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor’s degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Pastor Stan and his wife, Susan, are proud parents to sons, Briggs and Glenn.
Bobby and his wife, Mary have been attending Franklin Heights since 2006. A native of Penhook, Bobby was called by the Church in September 2013 to serve on the Ministry Staff. In addition to serving as Campus Pastor of the Rocky Mount campus, Bobby oversees the areas of Discipleship, Senior Adults, and Men’s Ministry at Franklin Heights. He and Mary have six children—Madison, Kennedy, Justin, Kaleb, Kaiden, and Karleigh. Bobby loves helping people grow in their faith and get connected with the body of Christ at FHC. His life verse from the Bible is Romans 12:1-2. “After presenting all God has done for us in the first 11 chapters of Romans, isn’t this a reasonable way to respond?” he asks. “As such, I want to give God all of my life.”
A native of Portsmouth, VA, Bobby and his wife Dell have been serving in student ministry for more than 18 years. An alumnus of Liberty University, God called Bobby into Student Ministry in the fall of 1992. In August, 2013, Franklin Heights called Bobby to assume the role of Student Pastor. His primary areas of responsibility are the students at all campuses of Franklin Heights Church and the unreached students in Franklin County. Bobby and Dell are the parents of two young adults—Robby and Kristen.
His favorite verse of scripture is Joshua 1:9. Bobby loves spending quality time in meaningful conversations with students that inspire life transformation and passionate living for God!
A native of North Carolina, Mark graduated from Wake Forest University in 1983 and Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1986. He has also earned credits toward a MA in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Mark’s rich ministry background includes 22 years of service at First Baptist Church, Charlottesville, VA, where he most recently served as Senior Associate Pastor. He also worked in the areas of discipleship, assimilation, and family ministry, as well as evangelism, preaching, and mentoring. In addition to serving as Campus Pastor at the Union Hall campus, he will also lead in the area of local ministries, including Love Franklin County, for all campuses. He loves to disciple and equip believers in order to engage them in mission opportunities both locally and internationally. Throughout his ministry Mark has held fast to the promise found in Proverbs 3:5-6.
Mark and his wife Nancy have four adult children; Katie (and husband, Cale), Daniel, Luke, and Courtney. An avid sports fan, he also enjoys time on the lake with family and friends.
A native of Pulaski, VA, Rob received his Bachelor’s of Music from Furman University, in Greenville, SC, and his Master’s of Church Music degree from The Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY. He married his high school sweetheart, Pam, and they have two grown sons who both serve in ministry.
Rob considers himself very blessed to have felt God’s call to music ministry at the age of 13. “That allowed me to really focus my energies ad class choices toward music and ministry from an early age,” he shares. Having served for over 36 years as a Worship Pastor in churches in South Carolina, Kentucky and Florida, he joined the Franklin Heights team in January of 2015. His life verse is John 4:23. He loves what he does for a living and his favorite part of his job is leading corporate worship on Sunday mornings.
Bruce began to serve at Franklin Heights Church in March of 2019. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and his Master’s of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He serves as our Next Generation (birth-5th grade) and Missions Pastor. Bruce has a wide variety of ministry experience including children, music, youth, discipleship, and outreach. He is married to his amazing wife, Tracy, and they hope to complete an adoption from South Korea soon. He also enjoys what he calls the triple b’s: books, board games, and basketball. Bruce’s life verse is John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
